Do I need caravan insurance?

Although you are not legally required to have caravan insurance, it’s worth considering if you don’t want to pay to repair or replace your caravan from your own pocket if the worst is to happen.

The following covers are commonly included:

  • Accidental damage
  • Accidental damage whilst being towed (Touring)
  • Fire Damage
  • Flood Damage
  • Storm Damage

(Please check your policy documents for confirmation).

What's the difference between 'New for old' and 'Market value'?

'New for old' means your caravan would be replaced with a brand new caravan of the nearest specification if it is written off. When entering the value, this needs to reflect the current brand new price.

'Market value' means your caravan will be insured for the current caravan value taking into consideration the age, specification and condition of the caravan.
