Eversure car hire excess insurance is in the running for an
Insurance Choice Award 2026, and we’d love for our customers
to get involved by sharing their experience and casting their vote.
The Insurance Choice Awards are run by Smart Money People and are determined
entirely by customer feedback. This means there's no judging panel and instead,
the results are based on the experiences and reviews of real insurance customers.
Voting is now open until 13th October 2026 and by taking part,
you’ll also be entered into Smart Money People’s free prize draw for the
chance to win £1,000*.
What Are the Insurance Choice Awards?
The Insurance Choice Awards are annual awards run by Smart Money People to
recognise companies across the insurance industry.
What makes these awards slightly different is that the winners are decided
entirely by customers. Reviews and votes are collected throughout the voting
period before the results are used to determine the finalists and eventual winners.
This means that if you’ve purchased an Eversure car hire excess insurance policy,
your experience can directly contribute towards the results.
About Eversure
Eversure has been providing specialist insurance since 2008 and in that time
has helped more than half a million customers find cover.
Today, Eversure remains a UK-owned family business, providing insurance for
cameras, bicycles and caravans, alongside UK and European breakdown cover and,
of course, car hire excess insurance.
We know that insurance can sometimes feel unnecessarily complicated, particularly
when it comes to understanding exactly what you are and aren’t covered for.
That’s why Eversure focuses on providing straightforward information about its
policies, what they cover and how much they cost.
What is Car Hire Excess Insurance?
When you hire a car, the rental agreement will usually include an excess.
This is the amount you are responsible for paying towards the cost of damage
or theft and depending on the rental agreement, this can be hundreds or even
thousands of pounds.
You may be offered an excess waiver by the rental company when collecting your
vehicle although these tend to be pricey and limited in coverage, typically
excluding vulnerable parts of the vehicle like the wheels, undercarriage and
glass. Alternatively, you can arrange a separate car hire excess insurance
policy before you travel.
With Eversure car hire excess insurance, if your rental company charges you
for an eligible excess following damage or theft, you can make a claim to be
reimbursed for this amount, subject to the terms and conditions of your policy.
Eversure Car Hire Excess Insurance
Eversure offers both single trip and annual car hire excess insurance. A single
trip policy covers one continuous rental period, whereas annual cover can be
used across multiple eligible rentals throughout the year. This can make annual
cover more suitable if you regularly hire cars for holidays, weekends away or
other trips.
What's Included**
Up to £10,000 excess reimbursement
Cover in most countries worldwide
Windows, auto glass, tyres and underbody cover
Car rental administration charges
**Please see your policy wording for a full list of what's included as well as
any exclusions and eligibility criteria.
As with any insurance policy, there are limits and exclusions, so you should
always check the policy wording before purchasing to make sure the cover is
suitable for you and your rental.
How to Vote for Eversure

for the chance to win £1,000*.
